Former World No.1 Rafael Nadal is likely to be unseeded in the French Open this year, the Roland Garros tournament director Amelia Mauresmo confirmed on April 25, Thursday. Nadal has slipped down to 512 in the rankings after being sidelined from the court for a long time.
The Spaniard would enter the main draw thanks to his protected ranking but had hinted on April 24 that he may not take part at Roland Garros, with his aim at making to the Paris Olympics. Speaking to reporters, as quoted by Reuters, Mauresom said that Nadal getting a seed is currently not on the table. The Roland Garros tournament director also said that they’re in touch with the team of Nadal to see how things are going for him on the court.
